Directions to the New York State Museum
at the Cultural Education Center:
From the South
Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 23.
After the toll booth, go straight ahead onto I-787 north to the Empire State Plaza exit (takes maybe 1 or 2 minutes).
Follow the ramp signs to the Empire Plaza and proceed along the ramp that goes into a tunnel through the Plaza. Stay to the left and go through the
tunnel which makes a sharp "U" turn and goes back into the tunnel.
After the "U" turn, get in the right hand lane. Park in the P3 South underground parking. Take careful note of the color code of your parking area so
that you can find your car when you get back. Take any elevator from the parking area to the Concourse ("C") level, and look for signs to the Museum.
The Museum is at the south end of the Concourse, the opposite end from the Capitol.
From the East
Take the Berkshire spur of the Massachusetts Turnpike (I90) into Albany. Take the first right after the bridge over the Hudson River, and follow the
ramp signs to I787 south (towards the Thruway).
Exit at the Empire Plaza exit (takes about 1 or 2 minutes from the I90 interchange). Follow the ramp signs to the Empire Plaza and proceed along the
ramp that goes into a tunnel through the Plaza. Stay to the left and go through the tunnel under the Plaza, making a sharp "U" turn and going back into
the tunnel.
After the "U" turn, get in the right hand lane. Park in the P3 South underground parking. Take careful note of the color code of your parking area so
that you can find your car when you get back. Take any elevator from the parking area to the Concourse ("C") level, and look for signs to the Museum.

From the West

Take the Northway (I87) to I90 east (towards Boston). Follow I90 east to I787 (takes about 5 minutes) and take I787 south the the Empire Plaza exit
(about 2 minutes).

tunnel which makes a sharp "U" turn and goes back into the tunnel.
